Definitely the best romantic novel ever! :) :)

“If It’s Not Forever ...It’s Not Love!” is by far, most definitely, the very best book by Durjoy Datta! Having read a few of his books before, and the sample of this book, I could not wait to get my hands on it! And once I did, I did not look up from it till I reached the last page. It does that to you – it makes you forget everything else in your life and drown yourself in the pages of the perfect love story.

Though, actually, the best thing about the story is that it is NOT perfect. It tells you how easily and badly things can go wrong, even when the love is true. It tells you how to value true love. But in the end... what matters is that your love was true.

The authors, Durjoy Datta and Nikita Singh, have done a splendid job with the book. Every line. Every page. It’s just so romantic! When you read about the love of the dead-guy, that he wrote in the diary, you can’t help wanting to have someone like him in your life. But unfortunately, the Delhi High Court (Chandni Chowk) blast on the 7th September 2011, cost him his life. The only thing left of him was his half burnt diary… the diary that Debashish Roy (the protagonist of the book) stumbles over, in one of his many trips to the site of the blast.

Deb was also there, when the blast happened. But fortunately, he came out of it with just minor injuries on his body. But the blast had a huge impact on his head. The gory sights he witnessed that day came back to haunt him. He hated himself for not being able to help even a single person...

He is haunted for days. And once, when he goes to the blast site, he finds a burnt diary. “The diary of a dead guy.” In the diary, there is a story of a guy, who lost his life in the unfortunate blast. Deb takes it upon himself to take the diary to the family/friends of the owner of the diary. But the problem is – there is no address or contact number on it. The first and last few pages of it is burnt beyond recognition.

But he is not discouraged. His resolve is iron strong. And hence, his road trip across the country starts, in search of the end to the dead guy’s story. He is accompanied by his best friend – Shrey and his fiancé – Avantika. And the end of the road trip, is definitely what they had anticipated.

There are twists and turns, all through the book. It’s like you yourself are accompanying Deb and his friends – you almost release a breath when good things happen and get frustrated when things get confusing.

Hats off to the authors to have pulled off such a complex story. And SO well! This book is, undoubtedly – THE BEST ROMANTIC BOOK I’VE EVER READ!!!

After reading this, I’m definitely looking forward to more from both the authors. And I’m surely going to order their previous books too! And, truly said – If It’s Not Forever ...It’s Not Love!

A definite recommendation. :) :)
